Littell entrevistado
Si alguien cree que Jonhatan Littell, quien habitualmente rehuye a las entrevistas, es un prospecto de Thomas Pynchon se equivocan. Le fascina ser entrevistado, dice, pero la mayoría de periodistas son aburridos así que prefiere abstenerse. En The Literary Saloon comentan la entrevista a Littell hecha en inglés por André Müller pero reseñada en alemán en el diario Frankfurter Rundschau como "Mögen Sie Käse ?" Ahí habla de todo con su habitual ironía: Sobre la recepción en Alemania de su novela, sobre el sexo, y sobre algunos colegas suyos como Peter Handke, a quien califica de "asshole". Para The Literary Saloon, la entrevista tiene cuatro momentos estelares:
- Littell still hasn't received the ten euro prize-money for his Prix Goncourt-win (he didn't show up at the awards-ceremony): he's asked them to send a cheque, but they haven't so far
- He claims he'd turn down the Nobel Prize (yeah, like that'll be an issue ...), saying he has enough money now
- He hasn't read anything by Houellebecq -- though he does add: 'yet'
- He's going to vote for Obama (and he's sure Obama will be the next American president)
La novela Les Bienveillantes , con la que ganó el Goncourt más comentado de los últimos años, será al fin traducida al inglés y publicada bajo el título The Kindly Ones
